Grace Kelly wearing navy knit sweater cardigan set and matching midi skirt in 1950s

If the early part of 2020 saw a reemergence of "matchy-matchy" in the form of coordinated skirt and pant suiting (a look largely scorned in recent years among more fashionable crowds), the final months of a turbulent year offer a cozier, welcome interpretation, well-fitted for those struggling to balance comfort and style while navigating a world with far less exciting sartorial opportunities.

Fashionably prim, the look offers a quiet refinement that feels nothing short of appropriate in the face of today's uncertain world. Of course, what many do not know is that this trend was pioneered by Grace Kelly herself. When not dressed in extravagant, luxury designers, the princess favored the classic elegance of cashmere. Thousand in One Ways cropped cable-knit wool sweater from Rosie Assoulin

Labeled as the Thousand in One Ways convertible cropped cable-knit wool and cotton-blend sweater”, this set certainly fits its name. Aside from the versatility, though, we love the original cut and cable knit texture.
